The Visufit is used in particular for centering progressive lenses, but can be used for any other type of centering.
The Visufit is used in three steps:
And it's all very simple and convenient: you stand in front of the Visufit, which is adjusted to the correct height by the optician. The Visufit then takes a measurement within a few seconds.
You can then try on the glasses you want in a virtual app on your personal avatar.
It is true that wearing varifocals with stepless lenses can take some getting used to. If this is the case for you, we recommend trying out your new glasses at home first. Over time, you will have trained your eyes to focus normally at the desired distance.
Your eyes will adjust relatively quickly to continuous vision. The length of time it takes to get used to this varies greatly from person to person: from immediate familiarization to a few days. The younger a person is, the faster they can get used to it.
Your visual impairment is known as short-sightedness (myopia) and is a common eye condition that affects many children and adults. Myopia is often first noticed in schoolchildren. The visual impairment can worsen in teenage years, as the eye develops and changes during this time. It usually only stabilizes in adulthood.
Symptoms of short-sightedness:
If these symptoms interfere with your daily routines or are so severe that you or your child cannot perform certain tasks, consult an optometrist or ophthalmologist. He or she can determine the severity of your short-sightedness and advise you on the best way to correct it.
Your visual impairment is called farsightedness (hyperopia). It is less common than short-sightedness, but it still affects many people. Farsightedness occurs in both children and adults and is often passed on to the next generation. Although farsightedness usually begins in childhood, it is often not detected because the very flexible lens body compensates for it naturally. As long as the farsightedness is not too pronounced, children will see objects clearly both near and far.
The symptoms of farsightedness vary from person to person. These are the most common signs and symptoms of farsightedness:

Your visual impairment is known as astigmatism. This visual impairment is often inherited from parents to children. It is very common. Some experts believe that almost everyone has astigmatism from birth. The degree of deformation of the cornea determines whether you need lenses that help you to focus light rays better. If you are short-sighted or long-sighted, it is likely that you also have a corneal curvature that needs to be corrected. Sometimes the cornea changes due to an eye injury, infection or surgery, and in rare cases due to disease. Sometimes the corneal curvature can be so slight that it is barely noticeable and remains undetected for years until it is discovered at some point during a regular eye examination. In some cases, however, it can also cause serious visual distortions.
The most common signs and symptoms of astigmatism are listed below:
People with astigmatism see a shadow or blurriness in things they look at. This is particularly noticeable with objects that have a high contrast, such as black text on a white background or a bright light in the dark.

Progressive lenses are glasses with lenses that allow you to see clearly at all distances and experience uncompromising visual comfort. A progressive lens is also called a multifocal lens.
Progressive lenses cover different strengths in the near, intermediate and distance ranges smoothly, i.e. seamlessly. Thanks to progressive lenses, you no longer need to switch between reading and distance glasses. Varifocals also offer optical advantages: Because the different areas of vision in the lens merge invisibly into one another, varifocals provide an unobstructed view of the eyes and are indistinguishable from normal single-vision glasses.
Sports glasses can also be fitted with varifocal lenses. This means that you don't have to do without continuous visual comfort even during sporting activities such as jogging, golfing and hiking.
The advantages of varifocals:
Single-vision lenses are only used for a specific distance range and generally only correct either short-sightedness or long-sightedness.
These include, for example, so-called distance glasses for the best possible vision at maximum distance. Reading glasses are an ideal solution for correcting good vision at close range (usually up to around 40 centimetres). However, single-vision corrections can also be made for all intermediate distances, for example for screen work at a distance of around 60 centimetres.
Single-vision spectacles are advantageous if a visual aid has to be used over a certain period of time and within a roughly constant distance. If you do not want to take off or change your glasses for different distances, we recommend wearing varifocals.
The Visufit 1000 is an innovative system from Zeiss for high-precision facial and ocular centering. It has
This makes the Visufit an attractive alternative to the complex and sometimes uncomfortable conventional eye centering methods.
Visufit technology is used to center the lenses precisely, comfortably and quickly in front of your eyes. For relaxed vision right from the start. This measurement is free of charge and can be carried out every time you buy glasses. The Visufit really comes into its own when it comes to varifocals.
The Visufit also allows you to put on and compare frames virtually from home. And you can do this using your personal avatar, which is generated by the Visufit 1000.
The elasticity of the lens decreases in the course of the natural ageing process, i.e. it can no longer adapt optimally to different distances. You notice this, for example, when your arms become too short when reading. In other words, when your arm length is no longer sufficient to hold a book at a comfortable reading distance. If you don't want to constantly take your reading glasses on and off or switch between different pairs of glasses, it is best to choose varifocal glasses as a visual aid.
